Rana Fadavi is an Iranian set and production designer born in Paris and based in both London and Paris.
She completed an MA in scenography before working at Issey Miyake fashion house in Paris and moved to London in 2018. She has since been working across film, fashion and commercials.
Drawing being central to her practice, she joined the Royal Drawing School in 2021 for a 1 year full scholarship postgraduate-level course.
She is the recipient of the Chairman Prize 2023 (Charles Saumarez Smith CBE, former director of The National Gallery), for ‘excellence in drawing’.
Rana was nominated for Best Production Design at the British Short Film Awards 2024 for Victory to the Mimers (dir. James Green), and is a BAFTA Connect member.
She recently collaborated with Oscar-shortlisted and BAFTA-nominated director Elham Ehsas on There Will Come Soft Rains, winner of Best UK Short at Raindance Film Festival.
She also worked as Art Director on Ish, a feature currently screening at the London Film Festival, and as Production Designer on Black Noise, a new feature directed by Simon Blake.
